Meet Beth: From Caring for People to Changing Lives Through Recruitment

Beth’s journey began in 2007 when she trained to be a nurse. She spent three years supporting people at some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, specializing in palliative and end-of-life care. “Those were the moments when you realize how fragile life can be,” Beth reflects. “It taught me to listen, to truly be present, and to never underestimate the impact of kindness.”

Working in healthcare was intense and stressful, but deeply rewarding. Beth recalls nights on shift where small acts, a comforting word, holding a hand, or simply being there, made a difference in someone’s day. Those experiences didn’t just shape her skills; they shaped her values.

Driven by a desire to grow and make a broader impact, Beth pursued management courses in healthcare and eventually led a team of 70 people. Managing such a large team, especially in a field as emotionally demanding as palliative care, wasn’t easy. “It was a steep learning curve,” she admits. “Balancing people’s needs, supporting my team, and ensuring patients got the best care, it pushed me to be adaptable and resilient in ways I never expected.”

In 2016, Beth took a leap into the world of recruitment with Rapid Start Recruitment. At first, she had no idea what she was getting into. Recruitment was different, less about clinical care, more about matching people with opportunities, guiding careers, and shaping futures. Yet, at its heart, the work felt familiar. “I realized I was still helping people,” Beth says. “Now, instead of supporting patients, I’m supporting people in finding roles that empower them. It’s another way to give back.”

Today, as Director of Rapid Start Recruitment, Beth is passionate about equality, opportunity, and empowerment. She believes in giving everyone a fair chance, whether it’s a woman stepping into a tanker driver role or a man exploring a non-traditional career path. Her leadership philosophy reflects the lessons she learned in healthcare: empathy, patience, and the joy of seeing someone succeed.

Beth’s journey is a testament to the fact that helping people isn’t confined to a single career. From hospital wards to recruitment offices, her mission remains the same: to empower, support, and uplift others. Through her work, she continues to make a tangible difference in people’s lives, proving that compassion and dedication transcend industries.

As Beth puts it, “Whether you’re caring for someone in their final days or helping them find a new career, it’s about being there, listening, and believing in them. That’s what truly matters.”
